What is the difference between two types of side milling cutter in the catalog?


The main difference between SC and SCL cutter is that SCL has a holder BLL to use on the face milling arbor. Since the face milling arbor diameter is thick and short, it will provide better stability and tool-life.

If the machining condition does not require using side-milling arbor, we recommend smaller diameter side milling cutter, because the diameter of the side milling arbor is small and long overhang resulting in high instability and higher horse power requirement while making deeper machining.
