How to reduce the machining cost in hole making
In these days of recession, it is hard for many customers to get orders or profitable orders. Many of users try to find the cheap HSS tools to reduce the tool cost even though they understood the toollife and performance are poor. But if you calculate with more details together with performance and cost, you will notice cheap tools doesn’t really save the cost instead you pay even more.Usually, spot drill is used in Pre-drilling which makes a spot to bring drill in a right and precise position. The more precise the spot drill, the more accurate the pre-hole, which reduce the risk of drill wear-out and tap breakage problem. In general, people try to avoid the possibility of tap breakage in machining, because tapping is usually the last process of the work. Once the tap breaks, it takes time to remove the broken tap, and it may cause the risk of entire workpiece to be scrapped. A customer from Y.T. used to use the indexable spot drill from other brand, but because of the eccentric is too big which cannot effectively play the role of spot drill, on average, a batch of workpieces will break about 7 to 9 taps. After using our precise spot drill, an average batch of workpieces break 1 to 2 taps. The overall calculation of an indexable spot drill with a precise eccentricity can reduce the risk of drill wear and tap breakage, greatly reducing your tool costs and increasing machining efficiency.The following is a video of a customer's actual job. What is the difference between two types of side milling cutter in the catalog?
The main difference between SC and SCL cutter is that SCL has a holder BLL to use on the face milling arbor. Since the face milling arbor diameter is thick and short, it will provide better stability and tool-life.If the machining condition does not require using side-milling arbor, we recommend smaller diameter side milling cutter, because the diameter of the side milling arbor is small and long overhang resulting in high instability and higher horse power requirement while making deeper machining.
Does Y.T. have a T-slot for machining work-piece with more than HRC 40°?
Y.T. has B100 special grade carbide insert, which is made of combination of rare material metal powder. We usually recommend this grade insert for customers using high HRC material, difficult machining material as well as customers expecting longer insert-life.Y.T. T-slot has standard stock starting from diameter 10mm and thickness 0.5mm to suit all customer requirements. Our new UFO 2 design cutter has minimum 10mm with 4 teeth. Small diameter with highest number of teeth is the best choice for machining with high efficiency.
